The best vacation of my life
This place was clean, quiet, calm, and EXACTLY what i needed! The property managers were phenomenal as well, super helpful and informative, while still maintaining privacy. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with great views and a cozy spot rain or shine, look no further. There are a few other cabins near by, but it still feels very secluded, there's not much close by so come prepared for your stay and just enjoy your little slice of heaven. I can not say enough how happy i was with my stay, and i can not wait to come back!

Very nice!
Perfect place for a quiet getaway. Cabin has lots of character and is comfortable, clean, and contains everything necessary to enjoy your stay. Hosts were great about last -minute arrangements. I'll likely return the next time I need to sit by the river and recharge.

Adorable house, great location

Pure Heaven!
Jonathan the Host was just absolutely wonderful! He answered any questions I had in advance of my stay and came by one evening to see that I was happy comfortable and if I needed anything. This cabin ‘River House’ Is the best ever!!! I just had the most beautiful, relaxing and amazing time. Often just enjoying the deck and watching the river roll by. This is my second time there and will not be my last!!!!! Thank you!!!!

This is a tucked away gem on a gorgeous scenic drive. Like previous reviewers, we loved the heated porch and rockers and enjoying the gorgeous river view. The cabin was exceptionally clean, cute, and comfortable. It was just as advertised.

Perfect
We really enjoyed our short stay at the Riverhouse. The cabin was really cute, clean, and spacious. Extremely relaxing sitting on the padded rocking chairs on the back deck overlooking the river. Cabin had everything we needed. We hope to stay again sometime.

This was just a beautiful serene place that I would definitely visit again. The cabin was cozy, clean and just as described. Magical. Both restaurants we ate at there were very good--Takodas and Mckenzie River Pub and Espresso! Will book again for sure.

Long weekend at McKenzie River
This cottage has authentic character and while humble and rustic, the amenities have been updated for comfort and are well maintained. Perfect for enjoying the sounds of the river and relaxing after hiking; there are trails to explore in all directions from this location. Staying here was a lovely break from the noise and pressures of an urban environment.

Love the River House
We loved this cabin. My friend and I hiked everyday and spent the rest of the time enjoying sitting on the deck, watching the ducks, the view, and rafters. I will definitely be going back to this wonderful place.

Fantastic!
The location is exceptional. The back deck is literally on the edge of the McKenzie river. It was amazing to sit on the back deck in comfy chairs with a glass of wine and watch the wild life or read a book. The cabin was charming, comfortable and very clean. It was also located 5 minutes (driving) to Tokatee golf course. We will definitely be back!

Great stay!
We had a lovely 2-night getaway. The property is charming, and the location is centrally to all kinds of outdoor activities. Only negative experience was the queen mattress, which was very uncomfortable.

Peaceful
Loved being so close to the river. It was very relaxing and had everything you would need to stay. The only issue I had is it was gard to find. The address does not take you there. Other than that it was wonderful and we are planning to stay again soon!!

We really enjoyed our stay, especially sitting on the porch watching the river flow pass. My only suggestion is that the directions weren’t correct but residence in the area helped get us to the location.

Wonderful Riverside Escape
We had a great time. Being from Houston, it was great to get out of the heat and be able to have a fire in the fireplace in the evening after a day of sitting on the porch just watching the river flow by. Jonathan was an awesome property manager. He helped with providing fire wood so we could fully enjoy the house. We plan to return!

Beautiful stay
We could of spent our whole vacation time at this property! Cozy and relaxing. The porch and the river was amazing. Beautiful covered bridges nearby also. This property was everything and more in the description. Loved it!

29th Anniversary Stay
The property is located right alongside the McKenzie River such that we could sit on the balcony watching and listening to the river roll by. Very quiet neighborhood. We were there the week of Memorial Day celebrating our 29th anniversary. We had trouble operating the "smart TV" and upon calling our host, Jonathan, he came over immediately to help. Everything we needed for our 5-day stay was supplied, just as advertised. It is a great little cabin for two, taken care of by two great hosts. Roger & Karen

Heavenly. And THAT DECK!!!
We are return customers and will return again. My GPS wants me to turn left instead of right at the last turn, but as it was our second time, I knew where to go. Also, internet can be a bit sketchy but it’s kid of nice to unplug. ❤️❤️❤️YOU WONT REGRET STAYING AT THIS SWEETEST LITTLE COTTAGE.

Love this location
The house is a great place to stay. Staff was very friendly and quick to respond. We were frustrated because the internet was not working, Wednesday through Sunday. We took three extra days off to work from the location and to enjoy an extra long working weekend for our anniversary and we were unable to work or enjoy.

Huge little piece of HEAVEN
Absolutely heavenly from the location rightON the river to the cleanliness and accommodations in the cabin!!! Spent hours just enjoying the deck watching the river roll by and enjoying the view. Fishing was amazing! Hiking too! The Host was very communicative and answered my questions immediately. The comforts inside from the thick bathroom towels to the comfortable bed really were super!!! No skimping on kitchen utensils. And we enjoyed using the grill every night for dinner. Grilling is no chore when you are right on the river. Just a wonderful beautiful peaceful rest! Best rental I’ve ever stayed in!!!!!!!!!

great stay loved the view
couple of issues the address for the house takes you across the street.Needs a sponge in the kitchen do wash dishes.And bottom tray of BBQ was not clean so when we started it up it caught on fire.lucky I was a firefighter.other then those few issues it was great.

Hi everyone. I just wanted to assure you that the address is for the community and that individual cabins are named -- not addressed. My check-in instructions make our River House very easy to find. There are ample cleaning supplies under the kitchen sink, and the BBQ grill is cleaned between each guest. Please do not leave the grill on "clean" for more than a few minutes-- just like all gas grills. Nobody needs firefighting skills to enjoy this slice of paradise. Mckenzie River Bliss
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. As others have mentioned, you are right on the river. In fact, when the breeze was blowing on the beautiful porch, we had the distinct sensation we were on a riverboat! The porch heater is brilliant and the bass lights are adorable, in keeping with the rest of the "fishing cabin" decor. The interior is woodsy and cozy and comfortable, and I appreciated the large bathroom and heater. The kitchen is tiny but it's stocked with everything you need. I should add that they have a small Mr. Coffee maker (no Keurig) in case that impacts the items you bring for your stay. The area was totally quiet, we did not hear anyone other than the occasional raft or boat going down the river. We'll definitely be back, thank you Jonathan and Lisa!

McKenzie River Gem
Loved my stay at this cozy & comfortable riverside cabin! You cannot get any closer to the river unless you are standing in it. The rockers on the covered porch are a wonderful place to read & relax while enjoying the sound of the river. This is a fantasist slice of heaven to rest, relax & rejuvenate! The cabin was spotlessly clean & very comfortable. The decor is simply charming. Upon my arrival I found that fans had been left on to keep the cabin nice & cool. Very thoughtful hosts! I hope to return to his magical spot on river!!

River Watching
This is the perfect getaway for people who want to be immersed in the sights and sounds of one of the most beautiful rivers in Oregon. The cabin was tidy and welcoming. But the river is the real star of this property. Really enjoyed our time here. We hope to be back soon!

Love this place
Great place to relax, unwind and sit by the river with a nice cup of coffee. ( or glass of wine in our case) Manager Jonathan went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I probably should quit telling all my friends about this place or it’ll be booked solid!

Relaxing
We had short stay of only 2 nights. Cabin was cute. However It has no AC and it was over 100 both days. Fortunately they had a few fans and we were able to pull in cool air at night to cool down cabin. Nice on river but no access/swimming. Blue River Reservoir which had clear water and nice beach areas to access to swim and float. Didn't cook due to heat so not sure how kitchen etc functioned.

A week on the river
Loved it. Small but comfortable fishing cabin. Nicely appointed and furnished. Clean, everything worked. Quiet, listened to the river through screened window every night. Great porch with rockers right on the river. Very relaxing. Close to general store, Tokatee golf course, McKenzie River trail and all that has to offer. And drove to Eugene and back every night to see World Athletics Championship. Worth the driving. Loved it.

Wonderful riverside getaway
Great little house complete with all amenities in a beautiful and quiet area on the McKenzie river. The porch with a heater over the rocking chairs was used each morning for coffee and every evening with a glass of wine. A great stress reliever! Plenty to do during the day. We went rafting on the wild and scenic part of the river and hiked to see some beautiful falls along many hiking trails. We also did a day trip to the coast and another to the wine country trail. Great time and the weather was perfect! Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Cabin Nirvana on the McKenzie River
What a uniquely special spot on the McKenzie River. And we mean literally “on the river.” This well built cabin takes you back in time. This place has character. Feels like you stepped into the 50’s but with all the conveniences. Our two favorite spots were the large covered & heated deck over-looking the river. BTW-the river helped put us to sleep at night. And the bathroom-lots of space and a shower with water pressure. Luxury towels as well. We wish we were spending a week-because this McKenzie cabin is relaxing. Wish we had the time to fish for trout-there was some nice looking slower water about 400 yards upstream. We’d love to stay here again. I hope it works for you to select this unique spot on one of the most glorious rivers in the Pacific NW.

Epic waterfront cabin
Solo staycation at The River House was absolutely wonderful. Spent most of my time on the riverfront deck enjoying the rafters cruising by and a cup of coffee. 100% will be returning.

Relax
First time vacationing in Oregon. I’m a truck driver and this location provided me with relaxing views of the mountains in the morning and soothing sounds from the water directly below the balcony. Spent most of my time by the water ! The cabin was clean and very cozy. Completely satisfied!

Perfect Little Getaway
I already miss waking up and seeing the river flow by right outside of the window. The property is beautiful. There are several other small cabins nearby but it's peaceful and private, so no need to worry about the sound of vehicles interrupting the calming sound of the Mckenzie River. Plenty of nice hikes and amazing scenery within a short drive from the property. Having a nice warm fire to relax next to was the best way to end each day as it got chilly once the sun went down, and there was plenty of wood supplied to enjoy a couple of nice fires. Definitely looking forward to visiting this property again in the future.
