Beautiful location set along a beautiful park, 1 block from the harbor. Plenty of dining, shopping & things to do nearby. Staff was super friendly & helpful. I had a Parkview room and didn't really hear any noise even though they set up for the King of Denmark's procession that went right past the hotel!!!

The breakfast was excellent.

History (the hotel's Norway-USA shipping line origins), its pivotal location (within steps of rail, subway, tram and bus lines) and competition from nearby hotels all set a high bar for Amerikalinjen - during our 5 night stay, Amerikalinjen not only exceeded but set the standard. We compared and Amerikalinjen's free to lodgers breakfast was unmatched. Its multi-lingual staff couldn't have been more helpful for example, giving us take-away bags (since our checkout time was before the hotel's breakfast start time); identifying hard to find transit access points for the mobility challenged. We especially appreciated Amerikalinjen's keeping true to its historical roots while modernizing for current standards e.g. to enhance safety, elevator won't go up without a room key.

Great location, easy check-in, clean suite, would recommend and stay here again!

We liked the location as it was very central to everything and being walkers we could walk everywhere. Plenty of eating places nearby too. The downside for us was that there was no air conditioner, just a small fan in the room. We tried to open windows to get fresh air but they were locked. I thought I was going to suffocate at times. Breakfast was nice and staff helpful..
