Beautiful Ocean Views

Cannot beat the location and amazing views. The lanai has two areas for relaxing and enjoying the views. It is a short walk to the beach and easy drive to many great restaurants, shopping and Koloa Town. Wonderful ocean breezes throughout the unit (no air conditioning). Noise was a factor with upstairs guests having a toddler and infant. Overall it is a very comfortable unit with a convenient location.

Sunsets, whales and dolphins, turtles and more!

The view from the balcony is incredible. We enjoyed wonderful sunsets in the evening and saw numerous whales, dolphins and turtles during the day. You have an amazing view all the way down the coast, and you can even see the Spouting Horn in the distance. It is within walking distance of Poipu Beach where we saw the green turtles come up on the beach each evening. The inside of the condo was even nicer than what was shown in the photos. For instance, the online photos show a very old-fashioned TV so we were pleasantly surprised to see a modern Smart TV, instead. We were worried that the lack of air conditioning would be a problem, but we found a nice cool breeze came through the windows and we were comfortable. Occasionally the noise of the footsteps in the condo above us were annoying but not enough that it would deter us from returning for another visit. The property managers were very helpful when the condo complex had planned maintenance that would have impacted our visit. Although it was fairly easy to pick up and return the keys my preference would be a lockbox or secret code so that we would not have had to drive first to the management company to return the key when we were headed to the airport. However, this place was so wonderful we hope to return someday.

location 10/10 Condo 5/10

Property is one of the best locations in Poipu with 8 - 10 minute walks to both Poipu beach and Shipwreck. Marine life everywhere you look out the back of the Condo...Whales, Turtles, Dolphins, etc. Location just cant be beat. Unfortunately the Condo is dated and needs a bunch of upgrades/repairs. Lights in both bathrooms (corroded and dirty, these are 200 dollar items at home depot...get new ones already!!) Washer (rusty and the dial is seized up) Curtains over washer are dirty and worn out, Windows/sliding balcony door (Worn out and hard to open and close) One lamp in Master bedroom doesnt work, Electric Stove/Oven is very old and was dirty when we checked in. Under cupboard light cover by the microwave falling off constantly and is faded and warped, the coffee table book and map are old, tattered and dirty (Dining guide is from 2020), The electrical outlet/box in the second bedroom is rusted. Place needs paint inside and out. Wish I could post pictures in the review. Management company for the Condo (Kauai Vacation Rentals) are excellent (10/10) with great communication during booking, payment, etc. with easy pickup and drop off of keys and info at their office in Lihue. Its a shame that the owner wont maintain the property and spend money on overdue repairs and upgrades it could be a nice place.

Right on the Water

Amazing views of sea turtles, dolphins, whales and rainbows 🌈 from our balcony. Prefect location in Poipu, walking distance to Poipu Beach, Brennecke’s Beach Broiler, Shipwreck Beach and the Hyatt, plus Whaler’s Shopping Village. Great value and size for the location, 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo except it desperately is in need of a major update. All the appliances worked, but very old and tired. The shower in the larger bedroom sprayed onto the floor because of half glass.wall. There was no fan on the second bath nor a window for ventilation.. We didn’t want to walk barefoot on the carpet as it looked really old. The condo grounds definitely needed more maintenance, just wasn’t very nice, but you couldn’t beat the location. So overall, we were happy with our condo. Missing Poipu already.

Breathtaking Views

This property was a winner for us, it was exactly as described. The hosts were so accommodating!!! We were a 2 couples traveling in Feb. for a quick getaway. The price seemed very reasonable for the location and amenities. It is not a new property but we were okay with that. We knew we would be out and about a lot, the nice beaches are a 5 min car ride, we even walked to shipwreck beach in 20 min, the walk takes you by the incredible grounds of the Grand Hyatt. The location of this property is perfect, No air-conditioning but this was not an issue for us, it was cooler at night and we were there in Feb. so it was pretty rainy for a good chunk of our stay. There is a really small pool but we didn’t use it. We preferred the beaches. We picked up some fresh fish at a fish market and cooked some meals in our unit, they had everything we needed. Sat outside in the morning and watched whales. Saw the most incredible rainbow ever too!

Great place

Great location and could see so much wildlife from the balcony. Saw whales, dolphins, mantarays and way too many sea turtles to count. The place was clean and easy. I imagine that if it was really hot it might get rough without air conditioning.

Amazing views

You walk into this property and wow, the views are stunning. You can sit and have you coffee and watch turtles swimming. The beach is about a 10 minute walk away and there is a lot of restaurants and other beaches nearbye.

excellent views

we were less than 50 ft from the rocks on the shore. Great privacy on the second floor. no large crowds of people. quiet area. loved it. we made a new reservation for May 2022. it was fun watching the large storm and waves from our "front row" lanai.

Beautiful breathtaking view but no A/C

This condo has a breathtaking view and you can consistently watch waves crash against the rocks and you can watch sea turtles right from your balcony. However, if you have difficulty staying somewhere where there is no air-conditioning then this is not the place for you. We found it very difficult to go to sleep at night even with the windows open. It is really difficult to stay there during the day. Other than that, everything was great.

Amazing ocean view!

Spent 8 nights here. Everything as good as expected, ocean view is amazing. We enjoyed breakfast at ocean side every morning and sunset every evening, what a luxury. We can see 3-6 sea turtles every morning, that is a pleasant surprise actually Please note, there is NO AC. So you need to make sure ALL blinds and doors are open so the breeze could cool down the condo. If you don't, the condo would be hot and humid. Actually we are fine with breeze. For the price per night, that is expected. There is no salt and pepper, but it is a minor issue, we just went to grocery store to buy by a pack of 2 for less than $3. However, there is one minor issue with us. We arrived at Kauai on 6/23 from Maui where we stayed for 9 nights, and we had negative Covide test before that. Kauai county remove the requiement of Covid test for inter island tests. So even if our QR code is not green to enter Kauai we are still fine. This was clearly published. However the property management office kept sending my message to request for green QR code which was not longer required. I hope they can update their check list on time. But I would definitely come back again, maybe in winter, for whale watching from porch. This condo is a great place to stay!

Fantastic stay in Poipu.

Great unit in the Poipu Makai property. 2nd story, 2 br unit, direct waterfront view. Large lanai with a dining table where we ate all of our meals. Got food to go and brought it back to the unit as the view could not be beat. Very nice living area, fully stocked kitchen, two bedrooms and one bathroom. Ceiling fans and stand alone fans as there is no a/c. The unit gets full afternoon sun so it does get hot. We were out until dark each day and it cooled off quickly, so that was not a problem for us. Owners left two small coolers with coffee, water, nuts and candy that we were encouraged to take when we left. A very thoughtful touch! Perfect location. Walking distance to Brenneke and Poipu beaches to the south and a great hiking trail to the north. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again.

Turtle watching

Lovely property with amazing ocean and sunset views. We absolutely loved watching the turtles surfing the waves every morning. Only thing is that it would have been nice to be supplied with some sample size toiletries (shampoo/conditioner) on check in. Otherwise the amenities were fantastic. If we come back to Kauai this would be our first choice for accommodations! Thank you for supplying such a beautiful property for our enjoyment.

great condo!

We spent four nights here in July - it was a great location in Poipu. The view is fantastic! - we really loved eating breakfast and lunch out on the balcony and enjoying the stars at night. Plus the property is very close to all we needed in Poipu and the rest of the island. It was a perfect place for us to retreat to each night. The condo was clean, private, and had all of the amenities we needed, including some beach gear. We loved Kauai and hope to return at some point - we will definitely look into reserving this property again!

Crashing waves view

Clean and comfortable condo. Well equipped kitchen. At least a mile to a sandy beach, however. The best part is the fantastic, up close view of the waves.

This condo is wonderful. We saw turtles in the water every day and even a seal. The condo was clean, comfortable, and lovely. I would definitely stay here again.
