What you can expect

The charming town of Lüneburg has a rich Hanseatic history. Salt mining once was a source of wealth for its inhabitants, as the architectural ensemble of the city, which has been perfectly preserved to this day, attests to. Stroll through the old centre with a guide, along the legendary “Salzböschung” at the Ilmenau and the fish market Stintmarkt and learn a lot of interesting things about the Hanseatic past of this city.
Special to the region is the Lüneburger Heide Nature Park. Picturesque meadows covered with juniper, heather and flowers make this place attractive for hiking, cycling or horse riding.
